Binairo
Binairo, also known as Binary Puzzle, is a logic-based number placement puzzle. It is played on a square grid, usually 10×10 or 12×12 in size, where each cell can either be a 0 or a 1. The objective of the game is to fill in the grid with 0’s and 1’s according to the following rules:
- Each row and column must have an equal number of 0’s and 1’s.
- No more than two consecutive 0’s or 1’s are allowed in any row or column.
- Each row and column must be unique.
Binairo puzzles can be solved using logic and deduction, and do not require any guessing or trial-and-error. They range in difficulty from easy to very challenging, and can provide a fun and stimulating mental exercise for players of all ages.
Tips on solving Binairo puzzles:
- Look for rows or columns that already have most of their cells filled in. This can help you deduce the remaining cells more easily.
- Use the rule that no more than two consecutive 0’s or 1’s are allowed in any row or column to your advantage. For example, if you see a row that already has two 1’s in a row, the next cell must be a 0.
- Pay attention to the parity rule, which states that each row and column must have an equal number of 0’s and 1’s. This means that if you have filled in a row or column with a certain number of 0’s and 1’s, you know how many more of each you need to add to complete it.
- Use the uniqueness rule to eliminate possibilities. If a row or column already has certain cells filled in, and you know that it must be unique, then you can eliminate those same possibilities from other rows or columns that intersect with it.
- If you get stuck, try making assumptions and seeing where they lead. But be sure to mark any assumptions you make, and make sure you backtrack if you run into any contradictions.
